    Performing DISC Personal inventory analysis in job postings using artificial intelligence methods

    One of the application fields of DISC selfevaluation analysis was introduced to predict people's performance and orientation in their working life. Each letter in the word DISC represents an essential personal characteristic, dividing the profiles of people in business life into four essential parts. In the current study, DISC analysis is conducted on job postings to match the person with the job posting. The current study was based on the analysis of 3 different datasets with job postings in English, Turkish and Romanian prepared by using web scraping methods and then labeled in accordance with DISC criteria. Several different machine learning algorithms have been performed on the DISC analysis outputs, and they reached the best results with accuracy values of around over 96% on the English dataset, around over 95% on the Turkish dataset, and around over 96% on the Romanian dataset, for both D, I, S, C models.Aralı

    Role of Fine-Needle Aspiration Biopsy in the Management of Salivary Gland Masses

    Objective:Fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is widely used in the management of salivary gland masses. Its main advantage is its ability to differentiate benign from malignant disease. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the diagnostic ability of FNAB in salivary gland masses.Methods:The records of patients who had undergone FNAB before parotidectomy or submandibular gland excision between 2005 and 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. FNAB results were classified as negative, positive, suspicious for malignancy, and non-diagnostic. Preoperative FNAB results were compared with definitive histopathological results. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), and accuracy of FNAB results were calculated.Results:A total of 285 patients were enrolled. Among them, 230 (80.7%) had parotid gland and 55 (19.3%) had submandibular gland masses. Following a definitive histopathological examination, the most common benign tumor was pleomorphic adenoma (52.6%), whereas malignant tumors were mucoepidermoid carcinoma (2%) and squamous cell carcinoma (2%). The sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV and accuracy of FNAB results were 76.9%, 95.4%, 75%, 95.9%, and 92.6%, respectively. The rate of a suspicious cytology was 5.2% (15 patients) and that of a non-diagnostic cytology was 8.8% (25 patients).Conclusion:FNAB is a safe and simple diagnostic tool for the diagnosis of salivary gland masses and has a relatively high sensitivity and specificity. It may provide valuable information for patient counselling and surgical planning. The major drawbacks include a lower sensitivity than specificity and a relatively high rate of non-diagnostic results

    Although cysticercosis is the most common parasitic disease affecting the central nervous system, spinal cysticercosis is rare. A rare form of spinal cysticercosis involving the whole spinal canal is presented. A 45-year-old Korean male had a history of intracranial cysticercosis and showed progressive paraparesis. Spinal magnetic resonance scan showed multiple cysts compressing the spinal cord from C1 to L1. Three different levels (C1-2, T1-3, and T11-L1) required operation. Histopathological examination confirmed cysticercosis. The patient improved markedly after surgery

    Bu çalışmada, sözlü kültürde yer alan halk hikâyeleri ile Türk sinemasında halk hikâyelerini konu edinen filmler arasındaki bağlantı metinlerarasılık teknikleri ile irdelenmiştir. Genellikle yazılı ve sözlü metinler arasında düşünülen metinlerarası ilişkiler sözlü kültür ve görsel metinler arasında pek düşünülmemiş ve incelenmemiştir. Halk hikâyelerinin genel karakteristik özellikleri ile filmler arasında biçim ve teknik açısından birçok benzerlik bulunması yanında halk hikâyelerinin birebir bir filmin olay örgüsünü de oluşturabileceği görülmüştür. Bu olay örgüsü esnasında anlamsal ve biçimsel birçok değişiklik meydana gelmiştir. Bu değişiklerin boyutu da Gerard Genette baştaolmak üzere diğer yazarların yaklaşımları dikkate alınarak halk hikâyelerinin; sinema filmine dönüşüm süreci ve bu süreç sonunda ortaya çıkan filmlerin günümüzün halk anlatısı ihtiyacını karşılayarak kaynak metin olma yoluna gittiği görülmektedir. Bu süreç söz konusu metinlerarasılık yöntemleri ile açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır.In this study, the relation between the folktales existing in the verbal culture and the films about the folktales in Turkish cinema has been researched through the intertextuality. The intertextual relations that is generally thought amoungst the written and verbal texts haven't been considered and investigated amongst the verbal culture and visual texts so much. It has been understood that there exist many similarities between the general characteristics of the folktiles and the films in terms of style and technique, and the folktiles can also constitute the event structure of a film one-to-one. During this event structure, many semantic and figural changes occured. It has been seen that the size of these changes meet that the folktiles cover the current public story requirement by means of the films released during the transformation process to the cinema film and at the end of this process considering the approaches of the other authors notably Gerard Genette, and it is considered that it has occured to be source text. This process has been tried to explain through the mentioned methods of intertextuality

    Considering the increase in power system size and the number of PMUs, it is essential to use a computationally efficient state estimator. The Fast Decoupled State Estimation is the most common method used in industrial applications, thanks to its computational efficiency and ease of implementation. However, it can be improved further by using sparse storage techniques, thanks to the sparse structure of the state estimation matrices. In literature, there are several types of sparse storage algorithms, however, only a few of them is suitable for the power system state estimation operations. Considering the possible frequent topology changes, Knuth’s method has a superiority in power system applications. However, even Knuth’s Method can be enhanced further by using additional information of the matrices. This thesis proposes the full Knuth’s Method for sparse storage algorithm. Considering that sparse storage libraries for real-time power system applications are not available as open-source, firstly modified sparse storage library is built. After that, by using the created sparse storage library, the features of the power system state estimator are built. Thanks to the designed sparse storage library, the computational performance is increased further for power system state estimation.Güç sistemi boyutundaki ve PMU’ların sayısındaki artış dikkate alındığında, hesaplama açısından verimli bir durum kestirimcisi kullanmak önemlidir. Fast Decoupled Durum Kestirimi, hesaplama verimliliği ve uygulama kolaylığı sayesinde endüstriyel uygulamalarda kullanılan en yaygın yöntemdir. Buna ek olarak Fast Decoupled Durum Kestirimi, güç sistemi durum kestiriminde kullanılan matrislerin seyrek yapısı sayesinde seyrek depolama gibi depolama teknikleri kullanılarak daha da geliştirilebilir. Literatürde bir çok seyrek depolama algoritması vardır, ancak bunlardan sadece birkaçı güç sistemi durum kestirimi işlemleri için uygundur. Olası sık topoloji değişiklikleri göz önüne alındığında, Knuth Yönteminin güç sistemi uygulamalarında bir üstünlüğü vardır. Bunlara ek olarak, Knuth Yöntemi bile matrislerle ilgili ek bilgiler kullanılarak daha da geliştirilebilir. Bu tez, seyrek depolama algoritması için tam Knuth Yöntemini önermektedir. Gerçek zamanlı güç sistemi uygulamaları için seyrek depolama kütüphanelerinin açık kaynak olara mevcut olmadığı düşünülerek, öncelikle modifiye edilmiş seyrek depolama kitaplığı oluşturulmuştur. Daha sonra oluşturulan seyrek depolama kütüphanesi kullanılarak güç sistemi durum kestirimcisinin özellikleri oluşturulmuştur.     Böbrek dağı İç Anadolu'da Kırıkkale il sınırlarında ve tamamen İran-Turan bitki coğrafyasına girmektedir. Bu makalede 64 familyaya ait 310 cins, 547 tür, 5 alt tür ve 2 varyete olmak üzere 554 takson bildirilmektedir. 63 tür Türkiye için endemik olup endenizm oranı % 11.5 dir. Türlerin fitocoğrafik bölgelere dağılımları ve oranları şöyledir: İran-Turan bölgesi elementleri 138 (% 25.2), Akdeniz elementleri 42 (% 7.6), Avrupa-Sibirya elementleri 37 (% 6.7)'dır. Diğerleri geniş yayılışlı veya fitocoğrafik bölgeleri bilinmeyenlerdir. Toplam taksonların 3'ü Pteridophyta, 551'i Spermatophyta divizyosuna aittir.Böbrek dağı is located in Keskin-Kırıkkale in Central Anatolia and take place entirely in Irano-Turanian pythogeographic region. In this paper, 554 taxa including 547 species, 5 subspecies, 2 varieties, 310 genera and 64 families have been determined. 63 species are endemic to Turkey. The endemism rate is 11.5 %. The numbers and the rates of the pythogeographical elements are as follows: The Irano-Turanian elements 138 (25.2 %), the Mediterranean elements 42 (7.6 %) and the Euro-Siberian elements 37 (6.7 %) and the remains are either widespread or pythogeographically unknown.     Synthesis and characterization of two-armed poly(epsilon-caprolactone) polymers initiated by the Schiff's base complexes of copper(II) and nickel(II)

    Two-armed poly(epsilon-caprolactone) (TAPCL) polymers were successfully synthesized via the ring opening polymerization (ROP) of epsilon-caprolactone (epsilon-CL) using the Schiff's base complexes [Cu(SAEE)(2)] (1) and [Ni(SAEE)(2)] (2), which have two hydroxyl functional groups, as the two-site initiators and tin(II) 2-ethylhexanoate (Sn(Oct)(2)) as the catalyst in bulk at 115 degrees C. The Schiff's base complexes (1 and 2) were synthesized by utilizing the concentrated template synthesis method starting from salicyl aldehyde, 2-(2-aminoethoxy) ethanol and related metal acetate salts. The synthesized TAPCL polymers were characterized by GPC, FTIR, UV-vis, and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). The molecular weights of TAPCL polymers linearly increased with increasing molar ratio of the monomer to the initiator. The results obtained from FTIR, UV-vis, and EPR studies indicated that TAPCL polymers had the Schiff's base complexes at the junction point of PCL arms. The crystallization behavior of TAPCL was studied by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polarizing optical microscopy (POM).
